We are planning our first trip as a family to WDW in June 2013. We have been to the land 3 times. We want to stay at the Polynesian how far out in advance would you do this? What is the weather like? I have 3 boys 13, 8, 2 should we do the dining plan?

Hi Samantha - I think the Polynesian is a great option for your first family trip to Walt Disney World!  It's one of my family's favorite resorts, and I'm sure your boys will love it!

I'd recommend making your reservations later this year - when the 2013 package rates are available.  That way, you can be more confident of your dates.  It's especially important that you book your dining reservations well in advance.  You are allowed to book them 180 days out, so if you are hoping to dine at the more popular locations, you should book as soon as possible.

The temperature in June averages in the low to mid-80s, and can definitely be pretty hot.  But, temperatures do fluctuate, so always check the long-range forecast before packing.

As for the dining plan, I generally do recommend the standard plan, as it does offer a discount from paying out of pocket.

I hope that helps!  Have a great vacation!
