Hello Wendy,
I’ve done several adults-only trips to Walt Disney World Resort, and my husband and I are hoping to get away for a weekend alone one of these days… don’t tell my son!
There is no better place to relax and unwind at Walt Disney World Resort than at
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. What I love most is the unbelievably warm and welcoming atmosphere that surrounds you the moment you walk through its doors - it feels like an entirely different world. I would recommend splurging on a Savanna View room. One of my favourite parts about adults-only trips is sitting out on the balcony, with a beverage and a book, watching the animals go about their day in the amazing savanna right in front of me.
I also love going out for a nice dinner while I’m on vacation and you’ll be spoiled for choice if you like fine dining experiences. One of the perks of staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge for me are its amazing restaurants. If you’re looking for another Signature Dining Experience, I would also recommend the
California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. It has absolutely delicious food and impeccable service, with a pretty unique view of Magic Kingdom Park!
Another thing that I miss from our pre-kid visits was the ability to walk at a leisurely pace through Epcot’s World Showcase, poking through all of the shops while sipping on different frosty beverages.
Finally, seeing as you don’t have to worry about anyone else’s schedule, you’ll have the luxury of poking through all of the shops at Downtown Disney, without anyone asking you whether you’re done yet!
Please don't hesitate to ask us more questions! Have a Magical Day!
Lynne
