We are planning our first trip at the end of February. It will be my 5 yr old daughter who is a huge animal lover not so much a princess and my husband and myself. I am struggling with what resort to stay at. Animal Kingdom Lodge or Grande Floridian?

    Victoria,

This is sure a special time planning your first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort and this trip will be here before you know it.  While both resorts are amazing, I would have to highly recommend the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Since your daughter seems to be a huge animal lover, this resort will be pure paradise for her.  When we took our now 9 year old son on his first trip when he was almost 4 years old, we stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge and had a savannah view room.  I have to tell you that the memories we shared watching the giraffes and gazelles right outside our room were just about as special as the ones we made in the parks.  His excitement and joy as he spotted different wildlife on his own was priceless.  In addition to the animals, this hotel is absolutely breathtaking from the majestic lobby and African art to the bountiful and delicious food that is served in the restaurants there.  One of my favorite places to dine with my husband is Jiko and the buffet and Zebra Domes (a special chocolate confection) at Boma were my son's favorite.  Another fun activity available at Animal Kingdom Lodge is the Jambo House Campfire on designated evenings.  For more information on dates and times, check with the front desk upon arrival.

I hope your daughter's first trip is a magical one and that she has a 'roar'-ing good time. February will be here very soon!
