I am planning our first trip to D.W. for our two boys, ages 10 and 17 with my husband who is in a power wheelchair. We are planning to fly with a manual chair and rent a power chair there. We want to stay at a moderate resort. Any ideas for max space?

Your first trip to Walt Disney World! How exciting! Your family will create memories to remember for decades.

All of Walt Disney World's Moderate Resorts have handicapped accessible rooms. You will find all the rooms similar in size so choose the resort that most appeals to you and your family. I suggest you contact Special Reservations at (407) 939-7807 when booking your vacation so a Cast Member can assist you. Also visit the Guests with Mobility Disabilities web page to find information about boarding attractions, busses, and special viewing areas for parades. The page on Electric Convenience Vehicles gives prices and list spots to rent an ECV. You may also want to consider a local company for renting a power chair.

The independent website allears has information on traveling at Walt Disney World with an electric chair you might find useful. I hope your family has a magical vacation. Please let the Moms Panel help you with any more questions you might have.
