We are planning our first trip to Disneyworld with our two girls, age 9 and 13. Our flight arrives at 1100am and i wonder if you have any suggestions for our first afternoon and evening. We are staying at PO Riverside Resort

Of all the moderate resorts, Port Orleans Riverside is my favorite, Karen, in part, because it offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities right on site.  Upon checking in to your resort, I would suggest taking a walk around the property to get acquainted with your home away from home.  The resort's food court provides a great place to get a quick bite to eat.  If your girls are tempted by the pool, your first afternoon would provide a great opportunity to spend some time there.  You might also consider a surrey bike rental.  Pedaling along the shady bike path is always a pleasant experience.  Come dinner time, you can either head to a reservation at one of Disney's resort restaurants (Whispering Canyon Cafe is fun for teens and tweens) or maybe just head to Downtown Disney via the boat launch for a casual meal at one of the quick service locations there.  Finish up with an ice cream sundae from Ghirardelli and turn in early so that you'll be ready for a full day the next morning.  Have a great trip!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
