Hey there Heather,
Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for your question! My wife and I have visited the Disneyland Resort when our son was one and again more recently when our daughter was six-months-old, and both trips were so much fun!
In terms of where to stay, if you can swing it then I would highly recommend
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. From this hotel, you can walk directly into
Disney California Adventure Park and the entrance to
Disneyland Park is just a short walk through the
Downtown Disney District.
If that hotel is a bit out of your price range, then the
Disneyland Hotel is where my family and I most often stay - we love it there! This hotel is also convenient because you can take the
Disneyland Monorail from the Downtown Disney District into Tomorrowland in Disneyland Park. Just keep in mind that you'll need to fold up your stroller when boarding.
In terms of discounts on rooms, I would recommend keeping an eye on the
Special Offers page! If the dates of your visit are flexible at all, it looks like there is a great offer currently to save on stays at Disneyland Resort Hotels on Sunday through Thursday nights starting January 15, 2024.
Additionally, I wanted to add that the
Baby Care Centers were absolute life-savers during our visits when our kids were babies! There is one in each park and they offer helpful amenities like a nursing room with chairs, a changing room with tables, highchairs for a quick snack or meal, and a vending machine with just about any item you might need for purchase.
Thanks again for your question, Heather! I hope you enjoy making new magical memories with your little one.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
