Hello! We are planning our first trip to Disneyland and California Adventure. We have a total of 4 days, but one day is the day we arrive so only a half day at the parks. My question is… which park has more to do and would deserve the 2 full days?

Hello there Leanne! You must be so excited - your first steps down Main Street, U.S.A. are just a few days away! There is so much magic waiting for you, and that first glimpse of Sleeping Beauty Castle is something you will never forget!

There is truly so much to see and do at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park that deciding where you spend your time can feel a little overwhelming at first. I'm so glad you found your way to planDisney for a dose of planning pixie dust. When it comes to planning a Disney vacation, I always like to take into consideration who will be experiencing it with me. This will definitely help you in determining how to plan out your days.

If you have Jedis, princesses or nostalgic Disney fans (like yours truly!) in your party, you may want to lean towards Disneyland Park. Fantasyland transports you straight to the heart of your favorite stories. Here you can fly through the air on Dumbo The Flying Elephant, take a spin like Alice in a teacup at Mad Tea Party and live the fairy tale complete with a storybook ending in Snow White's Enchanted Wish. You'll also be able to visit the planet of Batuu in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge where you will join the resistance, pilot the Millennium Falcon and can even grab a drink at the local cantina. You might just run into a stormtrooper or two! And if you have thrill seekers in your group, they won't be left behind - launch into orbit on Space Mountain or grab a seat on the wildest ride in the wilderness on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!

If you have Avengers or fans of Lightning McQueen and Woody in your party, you might want to lean towards Disney California Adventure Park. The new Avengers Campus is a must-see. Where else can you spot your favorite superheroes on the way to their next adventure? You can even join Peter Parker to take down an army of rogue Spider-Bots in WEB SLINGERS: An Amazing Spider-man Adventure and rescue Star-lord from the Collector on Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! One of the cutest lands on earth is Cars Land where you can step straight into Lightning McQueen's shoes (or wheels!). Race through Radiator Springs Racers, work up an appetite and grab a bite from Flo's V8 Cafe before taking a spin through Mater's Junkyard Jamboree. Head on over to Pixar Pier to chase down Jack-Jack on the Incredicoaster and you will have a blast spinning through Toy Story Midway Mania!

Leanne, I think the most important thing to know about your time at the Disneyland Resort is that all decisions lead to magic and wonder and memories that will last a lifetime. There is something for everyone at every turn, and sometimes my most favorite moments are when we slow down to eat a meal, take in the fireworks and just enjoy all the sights and sounds and time together. Enjoy your time at the Happiest Place on Earth and reach back out to us at planDisney with any questions!

    Keep wishing on those stars,
    Tara
