Planning a first trip to Disney with our 4yr. old. Is mid-May a good time to go crowd-wise? Also we are thinking of staying at the AOA resort, when do we need to make reservations? Thanks

Hi, Helen!  As soon as you know you wan to stay at a particular Walt Disney World resort, I say book it!  You can usually book room only reservations well in advance (500 days), so to ensure you get the type of accommodation at the resort you want, the earlier the better.  Packages can be booked usually within a year, so if you plan on booking a package, keep that time frame in mind, too.

Mid-May is typically a very good time.  Once Spring Break is over in most places, things get a bit quieter until Memorial Day weekend.  Some schools wrap up at the end of May, so it's hard for people to take kids out with final exams and the end of school looming, so you'll usually find it to be a bit less crowded than normal.

I hope you have a wonderful time, and good luck with your planning!  We're here if you need us!
