We are planning our first trip to Disney with our 5 ½ and 2 year old boys. We can’t decide if we should buy/rent double stroller, or buy one of those platforms to convert our Graco stroller to a sit and stand. What has everybody else had success wit

    Hi Stuart:

Great question. You are only getting my opinion, and I acknowledge that others may have a different view, however, my preference would be for two single strollers over a double or a stroller with a platform.

We used a double stroller on our last trip, but will use two single strollers on our planned next two trips. The double stroller worked fine, but had a couple of drawbacks. Aside from the double stroller being bulkier on the bus, the selling point for the single stroller for me is that the double stroller is wider and a little less maneuverable. If the Parks get crowded, you'll appreciate being able to squeeze through narrower gaps in crowds with more maneuverability if using a single stroller.  Also, because there is so much walking to do at Disney World, it's likely that your 5 1/2 year old will want to lie down and even rest, so having a full stroller option for him is likely preferable.

Again, the double stroller worked fine for us on our last trip, and has the advantage of being one less stroller to keep up with, but overall, I believe two single strollers is preferable. My family uses a local Orlando stroller-rental service, orlandostrollerrentals.com. They are familiar working with Disney World guests and conveniently deliver and pick up the stroller right from your Resort.

    Enjoy your vacation.
