    HI! We are planning our first trip to Disney world with our two kids hopefully in August. My son will be 8 and my daughter will be 13, do you have suggestions on places we should visit and stay? I want to make their first trip very special! Thanks Kim

    Hi Kimberlee:

    Congratulations on your first trip. This question has many correct answers, and I'm always eager to give my opinion.  

    For a 13 year old girl and an 8 year old boy, it may be hard to please both tastes.  But I think your best bet is to check out the Yacht or Beach Club Resorts, which share the Stormalong Bay pool, considered by many to be the best pool on property featuring a major water slide, several sections, and a lazy river.  Not only are these Resorts centrally located near that entertainment and restaurants of the Boardwalk area, but they are a quick walk away from Epcot, and long walk or short boat ride away from Hollywood Studios.  I also recommend Animal Kingdom Lodge, especially if you reserve a savanna-view room where your family can watch the animals walk by right outside your window.  The pools are great at Animal Kingdom Lodge. AKL Jambo House is home to the 11,000 square foot Uzima pool. The pool boasts a 67-foot slide. There is also Pumbaa's Fun and Games Arcade. AKL Kidani Village is home to the wonderful Samawati Springs pool. If you are looking at a Value Resort, Pop Century has great themeing.

    I would make sure to visit all four theme-parks and depending on the length of your trip, I would consider visiting one of Disney's two water parks.
