Mary from MA Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I am planning our first trip to Disney World this spring with my two boys 8 and10. I am beyond overwhelmed and don't know where to begin. Does one go through a travel agent or do you wing it. So much to see and do, where do you begin, stay, eat?

Hi, Mary! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I remember when I began planning our family's first Walt Disney World vacation, I also felt overwhelmed with all of the choices. One thing I learned is that you definitely want to take some time planning and exploring your options. If I knew then what I know now, these would be my suggestions:

Begin by watching the Walt Disney World Resort planning videos. Here you'll find an overview of the entire Resort, as well as videos about each of the locations you and your boys can visit. There are also tips about Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, Dining and Tickets & Packages, too. Then check out the Special Offers, Deals & Discounts to see which one might be best for your family's vacation dates.

For our family's first visit, we chose to stay off-property, but ever since then we've stayed at the Resort. You just can't beat the added benefits of staying at a Disney Resort Hotel. From complimentary transportation and MagicBands to Extra Magic Hours and Dining Plans, the perks will take a lot of the stress out of planning and executing your vacation. As a Resort hotel guest, you'll also get to book your FastPass+ experiences up to 60 days in advance!

If you find you have more questions once you begin to dive into the planning process, please don't hesitate to come back and ask them. We're more than happy to help!
