We are planning our first trip to Disney World, Orlando on Jan 6, 7, 8th. Can you recommend the best way to explore the park as a family for the first time? We are a family of adults and teens.

How ya doin' Jamie and welcome to planDisney!

A first visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth is so exciting. And you've chosen yours at a time of year when the Florida sun won't be trying to force you to pay an extra tax in sweat. Grab your best Mickey sweatshirt and let an old pro show you how it's done!

Traveling with teenagers is an altogether different animal than traveling with little ones. For a family where toddler exhaustion isn't a factor, I recommend adding the Park Hopper Option to your Theme Park Tickets. You'll be able to make Theme Park Reservations for your morning park and then head to a totally different park as early as 2 PM to take in as much of the Walt Disney World Resort as possible.

Now as for a plan of attack, I'd start my morning on the 6th with Disney's Hollywood Studios. If you're a Guest you can enter the park 30 minutes prior to the official opening time via Early Theme Park Entry. There are some excellent thrill rides like Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance that are all better than coffee for a wake-up call. I'd then hop over to EPCOT to glide through the stars on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and close out the park watching Harmonious light up the night. If you decide to do things the other way around, Fantasmic! is back at Disney's Hollywood Studios and according to my friends, it's better than ever.

Saturday the 7th, start off at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park with Avatar Flight of Passage, Festival of the Lion King, and Kilimanjaro Safaris, and end the day at whichever of the 2 parks you didn't do the day before. Sunday the 8th, stroll down Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom Park and soak up all the magic that you can on that last day. Secure a big pixie dust-covered finale by watching Disney Enchantment lighting up the night with your family of dreamers.

Jamie, whatever way you decide to take on the parks, it's sure to be a beautiful experience with the people you love. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back for another chat!

    Happy planning!
