Hi, we are planning on our first trip to Disney world in June and were at first thinking of staying at the Yacht club hotel due to location but after seeing latest reviews it’s put us off. We like Animal Kingdom lodge but is it too far from everything?

Hi there Cheryl! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm so glad you are here - I just love to talk about Walt Disney World Resort Hotels!

You are considering two fantastic options for your upcoming vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth. As you noticed, Disney's Yacht Club Resort is located in convenient proximity to both Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Since Epcot happens to be my favorite theme park, I find myself in the Crescent Lake region frequently. Cheryl, I have been a guest at Disney's Yacht Club Resort many times, and it is one of my favorite places to stay in Walt Disney World. I have had nothing but outstanding experiences at this resort, and I wouldn't worry too much about reviews. A June stay is the perfect time to enjoy Stormalong Bay - in my opinion the best resort swimming pool experience you will find anywhere! The resort rooms at Disney's Yacht Club Resort are lovely, and have been recently refurbished with new flooring, bedding, and fixtures. For a special experience, book a room with a Water View, and you will have gorgeous vistas of the pool or Crescent Lake.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is another excellent resort choice. Where else can you sip coffee in the morning while giraffes graze on the nearby savanna? If you are a Disney foodie like me, be sure to check out Boma - Flavors of Africa and Sanaa - two of my favorite resort dining establishments, both located within this resort. The resort is conveniently situated close to Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, making it easy to experience the newest attractions in Pandora - The World of Avatar. I have found the bus transportation from the resort to all four theme parks to be excellent. My children and I always enjoy a relaxing ride aboard a Walt Disney World motor coach. In June especially, a restful, air-conditioned bus ride after walking around the theme parks will feel delightful.

Cheryl, if both resorts have amenities and aspects that appeal to you, why not consider a split-stay? Many times when we can't decide where we want to stay on vacation, we spend a few nights at two different resorts. Disney makes this so easy, and Bell Services will even take care of transferring your luggage from one resort to another. When doing a split-stay, it can feel like you are taking two vacations in one trip!

I hope that helps with your decision-making process. Fortunately, both resorts you are thinking about are fantastic, and I don't think you can make a wrong choice. Best of luck with the planning process, and if you have any other questions, please come see us again.

    ¡Buen viaje!
    Betsy
