Hello! We are planning our first trip to Disney World in early Dec of this year. We have a 7 yr old son and 4 yr old daughter. I'm struggling with what level resort to stay at -- Moderate or Deluxe? Just found this panel today - thx for your help!

Hi Brenda - That's a really great question, and the answer really depends on your budget.

The moderate hotels at Walt Disney World are nice, and you'll have a great experience at them.  I've stayed at the Coronado Springs Resort as well as Port Orleans French Quarter, and have really enjoyed it.  The themes are nice, the rooms are a pretty standard size, and there are some great amenities.

That being said, I definitely prefer the deluxe resorts.  Depending on where you decide to stay, you'll be closer to at least one of the parks and have better transportation options (except for the Animal Kingdom Lodge).  The themes are nicer in my opinion, and you'll have more dining options.  In addition, the rooms are generally larger in the deluxe resorts.

I wouldn't break the bank just to stay at a deluxe resort, but if it's within your budget, I think it's worth it.

    Have a great vacation!
