Planning our first trip to Disney World in December 2013 with a 5YO and 2 1/2YO. Trying to decide whether or not to do Epcot out there...is Epcot worth it with kids this age? Or, should we do other parks instead (we are already doing Magic Kingdom)???

    Hi Meggan,

Epcot has always been my family's favorite park, even when my girls were as young as your kids, though I know that isn't the case with everyone. So let me tell you about some of the things that typically appeal to smaller children there, and you can judge.
    • The Seas with Nemo & Friends and Turtle Talk with Crush. The whole family can enjoy the giant aquariums. And the show where you can talk to Crush is always different and always fun.
    • Innoventions. A number of the activities, especially in Innoventions West, are geared to younger children, such as Where's the Fire? home safety game and The Great Piggy Bank Adventure game about money.
    • Living with the Land. Kids of all ages love this boat ride to see giant pumpkins shaped like Mickey and all sorts of cool plants growing inside this high-tech greenhouse.
    • Character greeting. Besides the regulars (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, etc.), scattered around the World Showcase you can often meet Snow White, Mary Poppins, Pooh & Friends, Belle and the Beast, Mulan, Aladdin and Jasmine and more.
    • Kidcot Fun Stops. Each country in the World Showcase has a craft table where children can make free souvenirs.
    • Phineas and Ferb: Agent P's  World Showcase Adventure. Fans of the Disney Channel hit can use a special mobile device to do a scavenger hunt and help Phineas and Ferb solve a mystery throughout the World Showcase.
    • Gran Fiesta Tour starring the Three Caballeros. This boat ride in the Mexico pavilion traces Donald's exploits through Mexico.

My daughters have always loved trying new foods in the countries since they were small. And my husband and I appreciate that we can have a range of foods and drinks for us as we tour the park.

I hope that helps and that your family finds as much to love about Epcot as mine. Enjoy!
