Hello! We are planning our first trip to Disney World in Dec 2016. On our arrival day I booked a morning FP at AK then lunch at Sanaa...then back to AK for more FP. Is this too much/far? Any tips on travel and/or getting in and out of the park. Thank you

    Hi Lora,

Two of my favorite things: a day at Animal Kingdom and a meal at Sanaa! Your plan is certainly doable and can give you a midday break. You just need to factor in travel time by bus between the park and Sanaa, in the Kidani section of Animal Kingdom Lodge.

To get to Sanaa, you will need to exit the park and go to the bus stop for Animal Kingdom Lodge. The ride to the Kidani Village stop shouldn't take more than 5 minutes, but I would allow 30 minutes in case you need to wait for a bus (which should come about every 20 minutes). I also hate to rush to an advanced dining reservation. If you're early, you can always explore the lodge for a few minutes or visit the savanna viewing area just outside of the restaurant.

During your meal, you will be able to see animals stroll by right outside the windows. On our most recent visit, a crowned African crane watched us through our entire meal. By the way, make sure you try the Sanaa bread service! My family could make an entire meal out of the breads and dipping sauces alone.

When you're ready to return to Animal Kingdom, simply hop back on the bus.

Make sure you stay to experience Animal Kingdom after dark with its special shows, music and dancing. Rides such as Kilimanjaro Safari and Expedition Everest are totally different at night. The Tree of Life Awakenings shows are another can't miss!

Wishing you a magical visit, Lora!
