Hi, Tara!
What a wonderful time of year to visit Walt Disney World! Your boys are at wonderful ages, too, to enjoy the magic of the parks; what fun!
I'll provide you with some basic tips, but please send me additional questions including if your trip is for 2012 or 2013, if you'll be staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, if you'll have park passes prior to arrival (that's a huge difference in money to bring with you) and if you plan on enjoying a Disney Dining Plan during your stay. All of these factors greatly influence the amount of money you'll want to bring along for additional expenses, so let me know what your plans are so I can advise you more accurately.
Regarding making the most of your trip, try NOT to plan to park hop often, as this is something that will rob you of valuable park time as a first-timer to WDW. Once you've gotten to experience much of the parks, park hopping works for some families; however, those who have never been to the parks previously won't want to race through any of the magic in order to get to the next one. As such, plan one park per day...you'll be far more relaxed and will get more time for attractions and entertainment by staying put. :-)
Traveling with little ones is a unique experience, so I suggest that you read through the tips posted on that topic on WDW's website, too. You will learn so much from that one post; it's a must-read for parents with young children who are traveling to WDW, that's for sure!
Send more questions with the specifics included above, Tara; I'd love to help you plan the perfect trip for your young family, capturing all of the magic you deserve on this very special first trip! :-)
