We are planning our first trip to Disney World in 2011. Would it be better to go the 2nd week in June or Thanksgiving Week? Also for kids ages 6 & 10, would the Polynesian or the Beach Club be a better place to stay? Thanks

In choosing a time of year to visit, you need to consider what matters most to you. Do you want pleasant temperatures, lower crowds, lower costs, holiday decorations, etc.?

The weather would be much more enjoyable at Thanksgiving time. November has an average high temperature of 81 and an average low of 63. Rainfall is usually less than 3 inches for the entire month.

In June, the average high temperature is 91 degrees with the average low around 71 degrees. There is over 7 inches of rain in a typical June month, although most of the storms are in the afternoon and of short duration. When you factor in the heat index, you'll need to prepare for steamy weather.

If it's low crowds that you are after, you'll want to avoid Thanksgiving week. Crowds are at their peak making lines long for most attractions.

For lower costs, you'll want to avoid any holiday weeks as rates tend to be high with less discounts offered.

If you dream about seeing the holiday decorations, then Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to visit as the parks and resorts are transformed into a Christmas wonderland.

Choosing between the Beach Club and Polynesian is a tough choice. Both are deluxe resorts with nice amenities. The Beach Club will put you in closer proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Polynesian is just a monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom. The Beach Club has the more popular pool. The rooms at the Polynesian are larger.

    Best wishes with your planning!
