Hi Stephanie,
Welcome to the Moms Panel! I'm thrilled you are here and planning your first voyage on the majestic Disney Wonder! I work with students with special needs and recently spoke with Disney Cruise Line's youth counselors about this very topic. Unfortunately, even though her mental state is that of a 12 year old, she can't be checked in to any of the youth programming onboard. What I can recommend is a new program offered on all the Disney ships that allows families to enjoy the Oceaneer Club, Lab, Edge or Vibe together. Each night you will receive a Personal Navigator, a daily newsletter, that lists every activity planned for the following day. What you want to look for is "Open House" times so your cousin will be able to go in and experience the innovative and imaginative spaces with you or other family members. There are many family activities such as game shows, karaoke, deck parties, and of course character experiences that she will also be able to participate in during your time on the high seas!
If you haven't already, be sure to order the
Disney Cruise Line Planning DVD on
DisneyCruise.com and watch the informative
video podcasts also on the site. They provide a sneak peek at what you can expect when you cruise with Captain Mickey and his seafaring crew!
Thanks again for the question! As you continue to plan for your cruise, please let me know if I can help you further!
Have a "Wonder"ful day!
Nancy
