We are planning our first trip to Disney (mine and the kid's) Feb 1-9, 2013. How is the weather that time of year? During the day and at night?

    Hi, Kristle!

Congratulations on planning your first trip to Walt Disney World! Woo hoo! And what a wonderful time to be visiting, too, with cooler temperatures, lesser crowds and access to the soon-to-open New Fantasyland expansion!

According to weather.com, the average early February temperature in WDW is 73 during the day, 50 at night. For us, this always means shorts and T-shirts for the day, with light jackets for the cooler mornings. Then, after heading back to our resort for a swim, or to change for dinner, we don longer pants and heavier jackets just in case the evenings are chilly. Bring your bathing suits and cover-ups, though, as all Resort pools are heated, and it might actually get a bit warmer than the average, too. You'll wish you had them if you don't pack 'em.

Just in case, we always pack a stretchable pair of gloves per person when heading to WDW in the winter, just in case the temps drop at night lower than expected. On at least two occasions, we've used them, especially when the kids are young enough that you'll want to hold their hands in a crowded public place. A gloved hand is so much more comfortable if the temp has dropped to the 40s! ;-)

Have a great trip! Be sure to send more questions as you think of them, too. We love to help!
