We are planning our first trip to Disney. Can we still use the Magicbands 2 in Florida? If yes, where can I get those? I tried to go to the Disney store but they only have the plus option.

Hey Howdy Hey Jeff and welcome to planDisney!

MagicBands are my preferred way to experience the parks at the Walt Disney World Resort. They are so convenient to have everything you need in one place and significantly cut down on what I have to carry and what I have to remember! Thank you for your question about MagicBand 2. I will do my best to give you the details of their usage.

Long story short, yes, you can use MagicBand 2 for your next vacation and they will work well not only in the parks but across the full resort. The issue, that you have run into, is availability.

As Disney continues to move towards MagicBand+, the availability of prior MagicBands continues to lessen. Before you get to Disney World, DisneyStore would be the best place to keep checking. Inventory updates periodically which may include older versions of MagicBands. Keep checking back to see if you get lucky and find these unicorns!

You can also wait until you get onsite where you might have the best luck. You can check at your hotel's gift shop where you will find some availability. More options will be available at larger locations such as World of Disney in Disney Springs. You can also check in the parks too. The Emporium on Main Street U.S.A. is a great place to start. They do have a wide selection available and more consistently have offered the older versions of MagicBands. You can also check at EPCOT at Creations Shop. These locations are the larger options where you may be able to find them.

I would caution you on purchasing from third parties. I have heard many times people get great deals from places such as eBay however once they receive the bands, they may be reported stolen and deactivated and unable to be reactivated.

Best of luck as you continue to hunt for these elusive MagicBands. If you have any other questions please let us know, we are always happy to help!
