I am planning my first trip to Disney but I would like to know what location such as Disney world or Disneyland would be better for my 2 year old so he can get on rides and if buzz lightyear would be at that location

Hey Howdy Hey! Welcome to planDisney! What a great planning question to ask! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Planning a first visit to a Disney Parks location can be exciting, but there are also many things to consider and it sounds like you need some guidance. As someone who loves to travel to both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort and has done this since many times my kids were little, I'm very happy to help! The theme parks on both coasts offer attractions that are suitable for little ones. You can get a better idea what attractions your little one can ride by visiting the Attractions and Entertainment page on the Walt Disney World website and the Attractions and Entertainment on the Disneyland website. Once on these pages, you can filter by height and also by a specific theme park. This could give you a better idea of what attractions will be available for your little Mouseketeer.

Character Experiences, in my opinion, are one of the most magical and best reasons to visit a Disney Park with your little one. There is something so special about seeing your little one's eyes light up as they meet their favorite character for the first time! Buzz Lightyear's galactic location can be found by using the Character filter using the My Disney Experience App and the Disneyland Mobile App. If your son loves other Toy Story characters, you might lean towards visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, you can feel like you are one of Andy's toys at Toy Story Land! If your son loves Pixar characters in general, the Disneyland Resort has a hotel that is being transformed into Pixar Place Hotel.

Other factors you might consider when trying to choose where to spend your first visit would be travel time and which location most appeals to your family. Whether you choose The Happiest Place on Earth (Disneyland Resort) or The Most Magical Place on Earth (Walt Disney World Resort), I feel confident you will have the most magical and memorable time! You can always choose the other one for the next Disney Parks vacation.

If you have more questions while planning your first visit, please feel free to send them to me at planDisney. You've got a friend in me, and I would love to help!

Wishing you magic to infinity and beyond!
    Smiles,
    Lisa
