We are planning our first trip to Disney at the end of November. We were thinking of waiting until the end of July to book the hotel/restaurants. Is this too late? We're hoping to stay at either POR or POFQ.

    Hi, Randy!

I always tell Guests to book their trips to Walt Disney World as soon as they know the details of their stay (flights, dates, etc.) This ensures the most options, as many Guests will book resort reservations a year or more in advance, if they can.

Because the end of November is so close to Thanksgiving, you might find that others have booked their lodging and Advanced Dining Reservations early, and the most popular locations will book up quickly. Keep in mind that Guests staying in a WDW resort may book their ADRs up to 180 days in advance for the duration of their trip. As such, folks will start booking those November dining reservations in June.

If you can be flexible, booking in July won't be a problem, but you may not get your first choice of lodging and dining options. Of course, there are PLENTY of choices, so if you don't have your heart set on any one in particular, booking in July may work just fine for you. However, if you really want that one resort on a particular set of dates, and if you really need to dine at a particular location on a certain date, it's best to book as soon as you can.

Hope that helps, Randy! Be sure to send more questions as you plan this first, most magical trip to Walt Disney World; we love to help!
