We're planning our first trip to Disney w/ our 6 y/o boy-girl twins and our 2 y/o & infant daughters. The kids have absolutely NO IDEA what WDW is about. Do we have to do character dining to make the trip complete? If so what would your top choices be?

What an exciting trip you will have with your children.  I can imagine the great pictures you will get when they experience the magic!

The character dining is a great way for children to see some of their favorite Disney friends without standing in long lines.  The characters all come to your table so you don't move and you can continue to eat while you wait.  They take time to sign autograph books as well as pose for pictures so the experience is quite painless!

My favorite character dining experience would be Chef Mickey at the Contemporary resort.  You have most of the major and popular characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, and Goofy.  The buffet is quite good also.

Favorite character breakfasts are Cape May at the Beach Club resort or Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House in the Animal Kingdom park.

For a casual and fun entertaining character experience I suggest Mickey's Backyard Barbecue at Fort Wilderness.  The kids can be up and dancing with the characters all night long!
