We are planning our first trip to Disney in April. We are on info over load and are trying to figure out if we should stay on site or off. What are the benefits of staying on? We want to one day at Seaworld too. Kids are ages 7 & 8 both boys.

Sandy, absolutely you should stay with Mickey!

Are you flying? If you stay at a Walt Disney World resort, Disney's Magical Express will pick you up at the airport, transport your luggage directly to your room, and return you to the airport at no charge. Do you enjoy time in the theme parks? Guests staying on WDW property may enjoy Extra Magic Hours, additional hours parks are open only to on site guests. Rather not spend your vacation time commuting? Pick the convenience of staying on property. Walt Disney World is a vast area of over 40 square miles so even if a hotel promotes its location as being within 10 or 15 minutes of the front gate you end up in a spot nowhere near the Magic Kingdom. Plus free transportation to and from all theme parks, water parks, and Downtown Disney is provided at the resorts.

Your information overload mode is perfectly normal. Deciding where to stay and eat and what type of tickets to purchase is difficult for those who have made multiple trips to see the mouse so for first timers these decisions can be overwhelming. Then what about Fastpass, PhotoPass, parades, rides, water parks, and a park itinerary? That's why there is a Disney Parks Moms Panel! Please contact me with any additional questions you have about your upcoming vacation.
