Hi, planning our first time to WDW this June for my son's 6th BD, we have 2.5 years old and my 15 year old niece too...any advise is welcomed...should we stay in WD resort? out (cheaper!)? do we need a stroller? my son loves cars, toys story, ratatouille..

    Hi there Imen!

How exciting that your first Walt Disney World vacation will be this summer! Be sure to stop by any Guest Services location inside the theme parks to request a free "1st Visit" recognition button for every member of your travel party and a "Happy Birthday" button for son to honor this momentous occasion!

I would definitely recommend staying onsite at a Disney resort hotel for an inaugural trip. All of your theme park transportation is handled without the need for a map or directions, you receive Extra Magic Hours for extended touring time in the parks and you're family is surrounded by Disney magic 24/7.

You might wish to consider staying at a Value Resort in a Family Suite for the convenience of three separate sleeping areas, two bathrooms and a kitchenette to help save on meal expenses. The brand new Art of Animation Resort looks amazing and is sure to be a big hit with the young and young at heart! There's even a Cars Family Suite, ideal for your son's birthday celebration!

For your toddler, a stroller is an absolute necessity as there is a lot of walking involved when visiting Mickey Mouse and Pals. Check out this link for details on stroller rentals and perhaps entertain the idea of a double-stroller that would allow your 6 year old son some time to rest between attractions too.

Thanks for taking the time to visit us at the Walt Disney World Moms Panel and feel free to send more questions our way in the days leading up to your trip! May your Disney vacation be practically perfect in every way!
