I am planning a first time trip to WDW and I am so overwhelmed my head is spinning!!! It will be me and my husband and our 8 yr old girl and 4 yr old boy.Where should we stay (prefer moderate) ?What do we need to know prior to booking a resort? We want FUN!

    Hi Ashely!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

The most important thing is to figure out when you want to go and how long you want to stay!  Then you should decide on a resort.  My favorite Disney Moderate Resort is Port Orleans Riverside.  It has a lot to offer and it is not too large, unlike the other Disney Moderate Resorts.  The only Moderate Resort smaller than Port Orleans Riverside is its sister resort, Port Orleans French Quarter.  If you are thinking Disney Moderate Resort, I definitely recommend going with one of these!

You then need to make some dining reservations if you want to dine in one of the fabulous Table Service (full service) restaurants.  They can be impossible to get into without a reservation.  Reservations can be made online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE 180 days in advance!  Some of the most popular restaurants fill up close to that mark!

I also suggest picking up the tour book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It is a great book for first time visitors as it is full  of information without being overwhelming.  It is also a beautiful book full of color photographs.  It will give you a good idea of everything there is to do at Walt Disney World.

Unfortunately, our responses are limited, but I would love to help you plan more.  Please send any more questions our way; you can even address them directly to me!
