Hello we are planning a first time trip in October 2012 family of 6, 3 adults 3 kids...how do I find out about character breakfasts and tea parties, etc? Do you have to sign up and pay extra or can you just go to one in the park? How can I find out? Thanks

    Hi Amy,

How exciting to be planning your first Disney vacation!

Character dining is extremely popular and reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance by calling 407-WDW-DINE. If you don't have a reservation, it is very unlikely that you will be seated on a walk up basis. You can view the various character dining options here. The price depends on which meal you choose, with breakfast being the least expensive. Most character meals are at buffet restaurants which is great because you can really fill up. We often choose to eat at the Crystal Palace for brunch around 10am. This takes care of 2 meals in one that way. Some of my favorite character meals include Chef Mickey's, Crystals Palace, Cinderella's Royal Table and Donald's Safari Breakfast.

There are several character tea parties as well that you may be interested in and will want to book 180 days in advance as well. These include the My Disney Girl's Perfectly Princess Tea Party and the Wonderland Tea Party at 1900 Park Fare.

Please let us know if we can help you further and have a wonderful vacation,
