We are planning a first time trip with 3 adults and 2 children. My son is 7 and my daughter is 6. We are thinking of going in September. I was hoping you could help us with an itenerary for 3 nights, including meals, lodging and any free or discounted offe

    Hi Amanda!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

The first step is to determine when to go.  Then you should determine where you want to stay.  Disney has accommodations to fit different needs and budgets.  The resorts can be basically broken down into:
    • Disney Deluxe Villas
    • Disney Deluxe Resorts
    • Disney Moderate Resorts
    • Disney Value Resorts

There is no doubt that if your budget allows, the best place to stay is a Disney Deluxe Villa or a Disney Deluxe Resort.  With young children, you might be spending a lot of time in the Magic Kingdom.  Thus I suggest staying in a Magic Kingdom Monorail Resort if possible.  Those are the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian, and the Contemporary.  Staying at one of those resorts makes it very easy to return to your hotel room for an afternoon nap or break.

After you know when you will be at Walt Disney World, you can decide what parks to visit on which days.  That will help you in determining where you want to dine.  You really need an Advance Dining Reservation to enjoy the Table Service restaurants.  ADRs can be made online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE.

Since it is your first visit, I recommend picking up the tour book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It is a great book for first time visitors as it is full of information without being overwhelming.  It is also a beautiful book full of color photographs.

Our responses are limited in length, but I would be happy to help you plan.  Just write back with more questions.  You can send them directly to me or any panelist!
