Hello Dee! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
You are in for such an exciting and unforgettable trip when you visit
Walt Disney World Resort! You have so much to celebrate and definitely deserve to treat yourself to some magical moments! Whether you're visiting to pamper yourself, take in all the thrills, wine and dine around the World or simply soak up the sun and fun, you know that The Most Magical Place on Earth is the perfect destination!
I think you've already made some great headway in the planning process by choosing your arrival date! Walt Disney World is beautiful all year round but many people absolutely rave about visiting in the fall. The weather isn't quite as steamy as the summer months, crowds tend to be smaller, and if next year follows a similar pattern to this year you should be visiting at a perfect time to catch
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. EPCOT is my favorite Park to visit, and being able to enjoy a Festival while I'm there makes it even better. You'll be able to stroll World Showcase with tasty treats acquired at the many
Global Marketplaces scattered around the Park and when you need a break you can relax and enjoy the live music from the
Eat to the Beat Concert Series.
Now that you've decided on when, let's discuss where! Browsing the
Disney Resorts Collection hotel page on the website is my favorite way to really fall in love with a new place to lay my head on my next visit! While I've stayed at many Disney Resorts I certainly can't say I've stayed at them all, so this is often the most exciting decision I make for my stay. With over 25 Resorts to choose from in three different price categories, there is definitely a Resort to fit every budget and idea of perfection! Here at
planDisney we also have
Disney Resort Hotel Pocket Guides in the "Panel Extras" section of the site. These amazing resources will provide you with everything you need to get a taste of each Resort before you dive in and make a reservation!
Did you know that Disney Resorts Collection hotels begin taking Guest room reservations 499 days before your arrival? That means that you can already begin booking your magical stay! Reservations can be booked online through the Walt Disney World Resort website or by calling and speaking with a Cast Member at (407) 939-1936.
After you decide which Resort feels most like home, check out your
Theme Park Ticket options. Here, you'll need to decide how many days you plan on visiting the Theme Parks and whether you want to visit just one Park per day or more than one Park per day. You can even think about adding on visits to the Water Parks if you're interested! Since you mention this being your first time I would definitely suggest spending at least one full day at each Park. There really is so much to see and do at Walt Disney World that even after dozens of trips I find something new around every corner.

Happy Planning!
