We have been planning our first family WDW vacation for my son's 5th B-day in April 09. Our family is telling us not to go because he won't remember it. But our son asked to go, and we thought it was a good ideal. Based on your exp do you think he will

Hi, Alicia!   Bringing a 5 year-old to Disney World is truly magical!   Both of my kids started traveling to Disney as infants, and I wouldn't have skipped a single trip!

My son celebrated his 5th birthday in Disney last year.  We let him pick which resort to stay in and his favorite restaurants on his birthday.   He chose his 2 favorites: Pizza Planet in Hollywood Studios and Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary.

I just asked my son some his favorite attractions he would recommend for your son, and he suggests Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom,  Spaceship Earth in Epcot, and Star Tours and Toy Story Midway Mania in Hollywood Studios.   These are all great rides, but you know your son best, so pick what you think he would enjoy.

I don't know if your son will remember every detail of this trip, but I certainly wouldn't miss this magical age in Disney!  He'll get the chance to meet Lightning McQueen, work on his Space Ranger skills with Buzz Lightyear, and get a picture with Mickey Mouse.  What better way to celebrate turning 5!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
