    We are planning our first family vacation to WDW for next year (first for us all). Our son will be 5 years old at the time. Is there anything we can do to make this an extra special time for him, other than the magical experience we are already expecting?

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Jenny ~

    I am super exited to hear you are planning your family's first Disney World vacation! Be sure to pick up your "1st Visit" buttons at your Disney Resort Hotel or any theme park Guest Relations location. You never know what pixie dust will come your way.

    A character meal is always a must do for my boys. Chef Mickey's, The Crystal Palace, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, and the Disney Junior Play 'n Dine are some of my boys' favorites. You can make dining reservations beginning 180 days prior to your trip which I'd highly recommend you do. Reservations can be made through the link shown above or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

    Here are some other ideas to make your son's trip extra magical:
    * The Pirates League
    * Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage
    * Jedi Training Academy
    * A Pirate's Adventures: Treasures of the Seven Seas
    * Wilderness Explorers
    * Pirate Adventure Cruise

    At Downtown Disney, check out:
    * Characters in Flight
    * LEGO Imagination Center
    * T-Rex
    * DisneyQuest
    * Splitsville

    Please feel free to visit us again with all of your planning questions. It is indeed our pleasure to assist you!

    Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
