Hi Brittany! Thanks for dropping by the Disney Parks Mom's Panel. I always love to talk to first time Walt Disney World visitors because I know what you are about to experience and it gives me butterflies inside just thinking about it. You are going to LOVE Walt Disney World!
First of all, if I were planning the most absolutely perfect Walt Disney World vacation it would include staying on property at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, Park Hopper tickets, and the Disney Dining Plan. Everything you are doing! I wish I could see the looks on your children's faces when you surprise them with the news. So much fun! It's pretty tough to predict what time of year is the busiest at Walt Disney World. Even after all of the years and all of the times my family has been vacationing there, we don't worry too much about how many others will be there at any particular time of year. The entire area of Walt Disney World (hotel, parks. etc.) is almost the size of San Francisco and that one fact makes me feel comfortable about any size crowd.
That said, there are a few things you can to to optimize your time at the Parks and plan to be there during the times that are less busy. For example, take advantage of
Extra Magic Hours which are offered to all Guests staying on property. This is a fantastic way to get some time at the Parks when fewer people are there. Also, take time to schedule your FastPass+ experiences and make Advanced Dining Reservations before you go. These can be done through
My Disney Experience and are great ways to make the very most of your time and not be subject to waiting in lines you could have avoided.
One thing is for sure, you and your children are in for the time of your lives. Enjoy every minute of it! Have a magical day.
