We our planning our first family trip to WDW for Feb. 2013 and are planning to get the dining plan. I know the dining plan does not include gratuity and any addition items that may be ordered can we pay for these extras with a Disney gift card?

    Hi Nicole!!

Thank you so much for your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!!

Congratulations on your first Walt Disney World Vacation!!!  You will absolutely love the Disney Dining Plan!!  We have loved it each time we purchased it!!

Yes, you can pay for gratuities/additional items with a Disney Gift Card.  You have a couple of options on how to do this.  You can either give your Key to the World Card (to deduct your dining plan credits) and your Gift Card (to pay gratuities and extra.)  Or you can just charge your gratuities/extras to your Key to the World Card, and then pay off what you charge with your Disney Gift Card on the last evening of your vacation.  We usually do the second option I mentioned because I do not like carrying around my Disney Gift Card(s) because they are just like cash.

Please let me know if you have any other questions in preparation of your first Walt Disney World Vacation!!

    Have a magical trip!!
