Hi, we are planning our first family trip to Walt Disney World!!!!! So we were wondering how soon we can start reserving things for our vacation and the best way to start that. The site only goes out to December we want April/May 2016?! Help!!!

    Hi Rachel,

Congratulations on your big first Walt Disney World vacation!  There's no time like the present to begin making your plans.  Although 2016 room and vacation package prices have not been released yet, you may make a "room only" reservation for one of the Disney Resort hotels by calling the number listed in this link for Disney Resort Hotel Reservations.  Guests may make room only reservations up to 499 days in advance. You will pay a deposit of the current hotel room rate for one night.   Later (usually mid summer) when next year's rates are released you will be able to add theme park tickets and/or convert your room only reservation to a vacation package to include theme park tickets and optional dining plan.  I am a planner like you are and when I plan my vacations this far in advance I usually make a room only reservation and modify it later to add other options.  That way I am guaranteed to have my preferred hotel.

Another suggestion for you is to bookmark this linked page for Walt Disney World Special Offers & Deals.  If in the future you find an offer which pertains to your travel dates you may call and have it applied to your existing reservation, providing availability.

Thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  Please come back and visit us again as you make your first magical vacation plans!
