Hi , we are planning our first family trip to Disney World, and I wanted to know is my 4 year old to young to go and if I should wait til she gets older

    Hi Deidra,

I can start my answer by saying you're never too young or too old to enjoy Disney World, but you're going to hear "blah, blah, blah".  I would too if I heard that:)  So, I'm going to answer your question honestly and with a voice of experience.

I took my daughter (now 18) to Disney World for the first time when she was 18 months old.  She LOVED it.  In fact, we would get back to our room and she'd stand at the door, crying until dad walked her around the lobby one more time before bed.  She also came home speaking in full phrases and sometimes sentences; if anything, Disney is very stimulating for a kid.  My son's first trip was when he was 3 months old (now 15).  That little lump didn't know what was going on, but we took him because hey, it's Disney!  We wanted to go, and babies are super portable!

My point is, neither one of them actually remember the time they were there, but they feel as if they do.  We have looked at our pictures and videos together several times over the years.  They really believe that they remember their trips and the joy that they get (ok, me too) from "reminiscing" is absolutely priceless and the entire point to those early trips.

Your princess is 4 years old.  This is a magical age for first time visits...she WILL remember her trip; maybe not every step of the way, but she'll remember.  While she's there, she's going to have a blast!  It's amazing and soooo much fun!  You'll remember her face when she sees Mickey, princesses and all of the characters for the first time.

Go ahead and do it.  You won't regret it for a second.  Besides, you'll be making beautiful family memories, and isn't that what it's all about?  I hope I didn't bore you with my answer (lol).  Wishing you an amazing and pixie dusted FIRST TIME TO DISNEY WORLD!  WOO HOO!!!
