We are planning our first family trip to Disney World next summer and when I read details about the dining plan it appears that my 2 year old will not have her own dining plan so I was wondering if I need to pay out of pocket for her at all meals,?

    Hi Ashley!

Thanks for bringing this great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Congratulations on planning your first trip to Walt Disney World Resort!

As you know, the Disney Dining Plan is not available to Guests under three years of age. But Hakuna Matata - no worries - Ashley! There are some great (and money-saving) options for your two-year-old! If you're dining at a Table-Service buffet or family-style restaurant, your little one can dine for free and have her own plate, drink and dessert! When my oldest daughter was two-years-old, her favorite restaurants were Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom Park and Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort. These are two examples of Character Dining buffet locations where your little one can dine for free! Here's a link to the buffet and family-style dining locations at Walt Disney World Resort.

At Quick-Service locations or Table-Service restaurants where you order from a menu, your daughter is welcome to share from your plate. This always worked well for us, but if your little one needs more, you can order off the menu for her and just pay out-of-pocket for those items.

I hope this helps with your planning, Ashley! Please stop back and let me know if you have any additional questions. Wishing you magical memories!
