Hi Leah,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. Hello to a fellow Canadian!
First visits are so exciting, and August will be here before you know it! I’m sorry to tell you that there is currently no “Postcards from Mickey” program, but I have a few ideas for you. Do you know anyone who will be visiting Walt Disney World before your trip? Maybe you could ask them to purchase a postcard while in the parks and take it to Mickey for his signature? Many of the resort gift shops sell postage and can
mail your postcard with a Walt Disney World postmark.
My family is currently counting down to our trip, and we did something really neat that we are loving. We made a paper chain, and on each slip of paper we wrote one thing we can’t wait to do or try at Walt Disney World. There is one slip of paper for each day we have left to wait. Each evening, our family gathers around and we take a link off the chain and read the paper. It’s really fun and seeing the chain get a little shorter each day really gets us excited for our magical vacation! I’ve also used
these super-cute countdown numbers from the Disney Parks Blog in the past – I printed them on magnet paper and stuck them to our refrigerator!
Leah, don’t forget to pick up your “First Visit” celebration buttons from your resort, or from Guest Services in the theme parks. Wearing these buttons lets Cast Members and your fellow Guests know you are celebrating a very special visit, and you never know what kind of pixie-dust might come your way.
Wishing you a magical first visit,
Robyn
