Planning our first family trip to Disney in late April '14. We have a (almost) 4 and 14 months. Any must do's?

    Hi Lauren,

My children are about the same age as yours, so I'd love to share a few of their favorite experiences!

    The Magic Kingdom:

Around every corner in the Magic Kingdom, your children are sure to find experiences that'll appeal to their visual, auditory, and tactile senses. (Not to mention their taste buds too!)

While most children have a favorite attraction somewhere in Fantasyland, my 4-year-old daughter's favorite is The Haunted Mansion in Liberty Square. Believe it or not, my 13-month-old son has been on it a bunch of times and he's totally cool with it.

    Epcot:

While I usually talk about the food in Epcot's World Showcase, my children love to explore the Kidcot Fun Stops in each pavilion where they have a bunch of fun activities to experience.

    Disney's Hollywood Studios:

Both of my children would sit in on every performance of Disney Junior - Live on Stage if we let them. (I don't blame them because it's a really fun show!)

    Disney's Animal Kingdom:

Similar to the Magic Kingdom, there are so many fun things to see and experience around every corner of this theme park.

On the Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction, most people point their cameras outside of the safari vehicle so they can take pictures of the of animals in their natural habitats. I, on the other hand, take pictures of my children's faces as they sit there in awe.

Here's a bonus tip from your buddy Derek:

The fireworks should certainly be a "must-do", but stake out a viewing spot that will allow for a quick exit if the loud noises end up being unpleasant to your children.

I hope that helps! Please feel free to write back if you would like more tips or have questions about specific activities/attractions that you might be considering.

    Best regards,
    Derek
