We are planning are first family Disney Vacation for 6 nights. I have three kids 2,6,and 8 years of age and I do not know what we should do when we get to Disney and if we leave out one park to go back to the hotel do we lose that day?

    Hello, Nicholas!

Planning your very first family vacation to Walt Disney World is so exciting!

First, don't worry about leaving a park to go back to the hotel. Once your park ticket is activated for the day, you have that entire day and night, until that park closes, to use that one day's worth of the ticket. If you purchase the Park Hopper Option, when you decide to head to a different park on the same day, you will still only be using one day's worth of that same ticket. Take a look at your ticket options at Walt Disney World's online ticket window.

With six nights to play with, I suggest that you see each of the parks at least once. You'll probably want to spend two days in Magic Kingdom Park, too, especially with your kids' ages. Make a list of each child's favorite Disney characters, and then plan a visit the parks where these special friends of Mickey make their appearances. I can help you map that out, too. Just send me another question with your little ones' favorites and the days you'll be in Walt Disney World.

Please feel free to send more questions as you begin to plan this very special adventure! I'd love to help!
