Planning my first ever visit to WDW in January, which week is usually the least busy?

Welcome, Jayden! Thanks for sharing your amazing news! A “first-ever” trip is so exciting! You started with the right question! Let’s get you to the Walt Disney World Resort!

January is a great time to visit! The holiday crowds have dwindled, the temperatures are moderate-to-cool, and you can usually find good theme park ticket and hotel prices due to lower demand at this time of year. So, you’re off to a good start!

The 2027 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend will be held from January 6 – 10, 2027. This popular event can draw quite a crowd of participants and supporters, so I recommend you arrive a few days after this event concludes. A planned vacation arrival around January 13, 14, or 15 might be the perfect time to visit!

One event that you might consider visiting in January is the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts! This usually occurs from mid-January to mid-February. The festival combines a variety of the visual and culinary arts throughout EPCOT. There is no additional charge for the festival; it is included with your EPCOT theme park admission! It’s a really fun event, and I highly recommend viewing the art while eating and drinking your way through EPCOT’s delicious variety of food offerings! Several artists have their work for sale throughout the park.

Additionally, Jayden, if you’re looking for a truly magical experience for your first visit, you might consider Disney After Hours! With this special ticket, Guests can enjoy up to three hours of additional time in a select theme park after the park has closed to day Guests! After Hours events are usually held at Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT! Some of the perks of an After Hours ticket include entry to the theme park a few hours before the event begins, complimentary snacks and beverages throughout the evening, and significantly reduced wait times for attractions due to limited tickets being sold for this event!

Finally, in honor of your first visit, here are two PRO TIPS for you, Jayden! First, be sure to check the Special Offers page on the Disney World website! When reservations open for 2027, you might find some money-saving offers by visiting that page. And, when the time finally arrives, be sure to pick up a “1st Visit” button at either your Walt Disney World hotel or in any of the theme parks! These buttons are complimentary for Guests celebrating their first time at Disney World! Consider it a welcome gift from Mickey!

    Dreams do come true!
