We are planning our first DW trip with our 2 year old at the end of April. Weather?? Also, we are struggling where to stay. We are looking at Port Orleans Riverside and Wilderness Lodge. We are looking for fun, convenience and cost effecient. Help!!!

    Hi Stephanie,

You must be so excited for your first Walt Disney World vacation!  I know you'll create some wonderful memories and capture some priceless moments on film.

The weather in late April is generally quite nice.  The high temperature is usually in the low eighties, warm enough for shorts, but not yet sweltering.  Definitely pack more shorts than pants and sweatshirts, although a light jacket is always a good idea for the evening.  It's not the rainy season, but you should always be prepared for a shower when you go to Florida.  Packing rain ponchos is a good idea, but if you forget, you'll be able to pick some up in the park or at your resort.

Both resorts are great, but I think Wilderness Lodge is your best bet with a two year old.  I'm guessing Magic Kingdom will be your favorite park, and it's a quick boat ride back to your resort for nap time.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
