We are planning our first Disneyland trip sometime between Feb 14-20, but we haven't picked the exact days yet. Do shows like World of Color and Fantasmic show on weekdays or just weekends? What about parades? I heard fireworks are mainly weekends.

    Hi, Anne! Welcome to planDisney.

The nighttime spectaculars and parades at Disneyland Resort are the heartbeat of the parks. I just love that moment when the lights dim, the music swells, and the sky (or water!) comes alive with Disney magic. It doesn't matter if it's the colorful fountains of World of Color or the emotional finale of Fantasmic!, these shows get me every time.

Typically, you’ll find that Fantasmic! and even some parades are more often scheduled on weekends when the parks are busiest, whilst World of Color Happiness at Disney California Adventure Park is offered more consistently throughout the week. The exact schedule can vary depending on the time of year, so the best way to know for sure is to check the Entertainment Schedule on the Disneyland website or in the Disneyland app as your travel dates get closer (usually about six weeks in advance).

If catching fireworks is a must-do, plan at least one weekend evening in your visit so you’ve got the best chance to see them. That way, even if wind or weather causes a cancellation one night, you’ll have a backup opportunity to experience the show you want to see.

    Happy planning, Anne!
