We are planning our first Disneyland trip! We are DVC members and WDW AP holders, so we know WDW but nothing about DL :) Is three days at the parks enough to do all of the things only available at DL? Any dining we shouldn't miss? Does DL have FPs?

    Hi Kathryn,

I was in your situation a couple of years ago! We are Disney Vacation Club members and frequent visitors to Walt Disney World, and were planning our first trip to Disneyland. Let me offer you some thoughts from this perspective.

First off, yes, I think that three days will be a good amount of time to experience Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park. Since you mention that you would like to prioritize experiences that are not available at Walt Disney World, you will want to plan for attractions like Matterhorn Bobsleds and Radiator Springs Racers. Also, we enjoyed going on attractions that exist on both coasts but have differences, such as it's a small world and Pirates of the Caribbean. I suggest that you plan one day at each theme park, and then on the third head to the park at which you want to repeat experiences or have attractions that you did not get to on the first time around. As to dining, we enjoyed a meal at Blue Bayou Restaurant, which offers the opportunity to dine alongside Pirates of the Caribbean! For an upscale dining experience, we also enjoyed Carthay Circle Restaurant.

Finally, yes, Disneyland does offer FASTPASS service. As a frequent Walt Disney World visitor, you may recognize this as the paper FASTPASS system that used to be in place at Walt Disney World. You may also want to be on the lookout for Disney MaxPass, which is a new system that will be introduced at Disneyland later this year.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you. Please do let us know if you have any further questions, Kathryn!
