Hi! We are planning our first Disney World vacation with our 4 year old daughter this November. What is the best resort to stay at that is geared towards smaller children? Thanks!

    Heather,

What a great question and I could list about 20 Resort Hotels geared towards children (they are all wonderful!).

In the value category, I'd highly recommend Disney's Art of Animation. Although always subject to change, currently dedicated bus service brings guests directly to the Parks without stopping at other resorts. This saves quite a bit of commuting time. You'll also love the theming and Disney's largest pool of any Disney Resort Hotel.

In the moderate category, I'd check out the Royal Guest Rooms at Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside ... fit for any princess! I love Disney's Port Orleans for the size and overall relaxed ambience of the property. After a long day in the Parks, I can appreciate a short walk to our guest room (as can anyone pushing a cumbersome stroller).

You cannot go wrong with any of the Deluxe Resorts, but Disney's Polynesian Resort offers excellent proximity to Magic Kingdom, easy monorail access to 2 Parks, abundant amenities and awesome Hawaiian theming. Assuming you'll be using a stroller, we often ended our evenings either at Magic Kingdom or Epcot for the ease of wheeling the stroller (with a sleepy little one) directly onto the monorail. There is typically no need to fold down the stroller ... very convenient! We also appreciated the zero-entry Nanea Volcano Pool alongside the beach. Watching Wishes fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant after a magical day in the Parks makes for a wonderful vacation memory.

I'd be happy to answer any follow up questions you might have, Heather, and I hope my suggestions were helpful!
