We are planning our first Disney World trip in August. We were planning on staying at the Comtemporary Resort. I saw in an answer to another question that there is construction at the hotel. Can someone please let me know what the status of the hotel is

    Hi Kristie,

Most of the construction at the Contemporary is complete.  They have updated all the rooms, the lobby, the arcade, and the gift shop.  I think it all looks great.  They have also finished construction on a new casual dining restaurant call the The Wave.

Currently, there are two projects going on at the resort.  When you get there you will notice a large structure that is currently being built next to the main building.  This should have a minimum effect on your trip.  They are also working on a new counter service restaurant.  This will be close to Chef Mickey's.  I doubt you would hear any noise from that construction.  If you are really concerned, tell a cast member when you check in.  If you are staying in a tower room, they may be able to give you a room farther away from that area that they are working on.

The Contemporary is my favorite resort.  The architecture and design can't be beat and the convenience to Magic Kingdom and Epcot makes it a perfect place to stay.

    Enjoy your trip
