we are planning our first Disney vacation June 13-20th, 2009. We have a 8 year old girl and 7 year old boy. We want one character dining experience. What do you recommend for their ages and being a boy and girl as well, to keep everyone happy?

    Hi Donald!

You didn't mention what characters your children would be interested in seeing at their character experience so I'll let you know the top 3 character dining meals we enjoy as a family.

Chef Mickey's - located at the Contemporary resort.  Here, your family can meet the fab 5: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto.  We've enjoyed breakfast and dinner equally at Chef Mickey's.

Crystal Palace - located in the Magic Kingdom. Here, your family can meet Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore.  We prefer to eat breakfast at Crystal Palace.  In fact, we try to secure an Advanced Dining Reservation at 8:05 on a non early entry day for Magic Kingdom.  You'll be able to enjoy your breakfast and be ready to enjoy the park when it opens.

Ohana's - located at the Polynesian resort. Characters are only present for breakfast and your family can meet Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto.

Note: characters are subject to change.

There are many other options available.  If you'd like to hear more, I would recommend calling  Disney Dining (407-WDW-DINE or 407-939-3463)  and speak with a cast member for more possibilities.

Reservations for character dining fill up quickly.  I would recommend you call Disney Dining 90 days prior to your check-in date to reserve your Advanced Dining Reservation.
