Hi, I am planning the first Disney vacation for my family. It will be my first trip and also for my children who will be ages 5 and 2. We will be celebrating my graduation with my Masters Degree. Is there some special thing we can do to celebrate?

    Hi Dixie!

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel!

As your children are quite young, how about a special character dinner, and have a celebration cake delivered to your table?

I don't know whether your children are boys or girls, but Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort is a great place for everyone to celebrate.  This is a fun, lively experience, where you will all meet Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Donald - there is always a celebration going on at Chef Mickey's!   Alternatively, how about dining with Pooh & Friends, at The Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom park?  This is in a beautiful conservatory setting.  Reservations can be made online, or by calling (407) 939 3463, up to 180 days in advance.

You can order a six-inch cake, vanilla or chocolate, at the podium when you arrive for your dining reservation, or you can call the Cake Hotline on (407) 827 2253, for something more elaborate - they require at least 48 hours notice and will be able to deliver to your dining table.  See this website for some ideas of what may be available:  www.disneyfoodblog.com/disney-world-cakes-faq.

Don't forget to collect a "1st Visit" button for each of you, free of charge, from the Front Desk of your Disney Resort hotel, or Guest Relations at any theme park.  You can also collect an "I'm Celebrating" button too!

Congratulations on your Masters Degree!  If you have any other questions, please come back and ask me - I would be happy to help you plan your magical vacation!
