Hi, Brenda! Your WDW vacation is not that far away, and you've picked a great time of year to visit! In September, it's still summer weather so that you can enjoy the water activities. However, the crowds are typically low, and the rates are usually less expensive. Make sure you take advantage of the free dining offer being promoted right now, too. Just ask the Cast Member about the criteria when you book.
The Beach and the Yacht Clubs are two of my favorite resorts since Stormalong Bay is the "mack daddy" of all pools at WDW! It's a sand-bottom pool with many features including a pirate ship slide. If you stay at one of these resorts, you'll have to plan at least a 1/2 day just for the pool experience. In addition, there's an ice cream shop called "Beaches n' Cream" that is a must on our family's list. I like that the resorts are only a walk away from the International Gate of Epcot and a boat ride away from Hollywood Studios. My boys like being in close proximity to the Boardwalk -- with ESPN Sports Grill and all the carnival games.
With those glowing recommendations, let me also make other suggestions for deluxe accommodations:
- The Contemporary is my very favorite simply for the close proximity to the Magic Kingdom, and for the excellent dining and entertainment options. For your sons, they will get a charge out of seeing the monorail running right through the resort and watching the MK fireworks or Electrical Water Pageant.
- Animal Kingdom Lodge is amazing...the mind-blowing lobby, the amazing restaurant choices, the pools and the animals are all apart of what makes this a truly unique experience.
- Wilderness Lodge is another resort with a lobby that will take your breath away, wonderful pools and dining options and only a boat ride away from the MK.
We have stayed almost all the resorts. So, let me know if you need more details about the others, too. Have a wonderful day and a most magical vacation!
