Hi Deborah,
How exciting to be planning your first Walt Disney World trip with your grandchildren! There will be many magical moments as they experience Walt Disney World for the first time. Let me give you some thoughts for each of the Walt Disney World theme parks.
At Disney's Animal Kingdom, I bet your whole traveling party will enjoy Kilimanjaro Safaris, on which you will ride a safari vehicle and spot animals such as giraffes and elephants. When my daughter was younger, she also enjoyed a ride on the Wildlife Express Train out to Rafiki's Planet Watch, where she enjoyed going to Affection Section to pet animals. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, be sure to check out Disney Junior - Live on Stage!, a high-energy show featuring puppets and live performers who sing and dance, and invite the audience to join in the fun. At Epcot, I find that little ones enjoy Turtle Talk with Crush, where they can interact in an amazing way with Crush from Finding Nemo, as well as Journey Into Imagination with Figment, which follows the adventures of the lovable lavender Figment. Of course, Magic Kingdom is a wonderful place to be with little ones. Fantasyland is my favorite land with young children. From the classic magic of riding a boat on it's a small world, to soaring above London on Peter Pan's Flight, to following Ariel's story on Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid, this land is full of great attractions for the young set.
I suggest that you visit
Walt Disney World's webpage for traveling with young children for additional tips and ideas. Also, be sure to watch the
free Walt Disney World video for ideas of what will appeal to your traveling party.
I would love to help you plan further Deborah; however, I am limited in the amount of space that I have to answer. Do write back if you have any further questions!
